Our Board
Dr. Srimathy Mohan is the founder and artistic director of Silambam Phoenix. By day, Dr. Mohan is an associate professor at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. She has served as the choreographer and director for every Silambam Phoenix production since 2004.

Dr. Gopalakrishnan Mohan is a professor of supply chain management at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He is also on the board of Silambam Phoenix. He plays a prominent role in supporting Silambam’s mission of doing good to society through arts. Along with the founder-director Dr. Srimathy Mohan, he assists in setting strategy for this organization. He is also a featured voice-actor for all Silambam productions.
Dr. Mohan also has written and staged several children’s plays in Tamil. He is an avid runner and hiker. He also sits on the boards of global supply chain think tanks including CAPS RESEARCH and Consortium for Advanced Management-International (CAM-I).
Dr Gopalakrishnan Mohan earned his Ph. D in Management Science, and Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, both from the University of Alabama. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering from the College of Engineering - Guindy, Chennai, India.

Dr. Subra Sudhakar is the founder and President of SchoolCues, a school management solution for small schools worldwide. He is also the head of sales for Sunvera Software, a custom mobile applications development company specializing in video, chat, security, crypto and NFT apps for the consumer and small business markets. He is also the founder of two other educational companies, GLTYR, a mobile multimedia content marketing platform (acquired) and SchoolFlicker, a mobile video yearbook for schools. He is the owner of eleven technology patents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
An accomplished percussionist, Dr Sudhakar plays the mridangam, accompanying classical Indian musicians and dancers and the western drums for jazz and rock concerts. He specializes in blending traditional Carnatic music with rock, jazz and classical western music using the mridangam. He is the founding member of the ethno music group Sonoran Masala, with his wife, Dr Sheila Sudhakar.
Dr Subra Sudhakar earned his Ph. D in Materials Science, and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India.

Chitra Subramanian has been a part of the Silambam Family from its very inception – as a Board Member! She is passionate about Bharata Natyam as well as the children of the dance school, always encouraging them to do their best. She has been helping Silambam part time with its financials and accounting. You will also find her actively engaged at almost every Silambam Event getting the auditorium ready for the performance by helping with decorations, setup, and overall logistics.
Chitra has been in the Phoenix area since 1999. She works for American Express and lives with her husband Kalyan who is also an active volunteer of Silambam.

Jyoti Sridhar is Vice-President, Product Delivery and Integration at American Express where she is part of several women’s interest groups. A strong believer in nurturing talent, she also mentors several professionals, helping them own, define and grow their career.
Outside of work, she is very passionate about women’s causes and is on the board of Directors of SILAMBAM, Phoenix, a valley-based non-profit that teaches Indian dance, and also supports various women related charities.
An amateur stage lighting enthusiast, pre-covid, she designed and executed special effects for several dance recitals and theater productions. She is eagerly looking forward to getting back to the lighting booth for upcoming stage productions.
Jyoti has a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from BITS, Pilani, India, American Express and Harvard Certificate in Leadership Excellence, and certification in Agile practices from Scrum Alliance.
